14th Annual Tara’s Walk
In Person & Virtual 5k Option
Saturday, September 25, 2021
As a kick-start to Domestic Violence Awareness Month (October), the 14th Annual Tara’s Walk will be held both in-person and virtually this year, on Saturday, September, 25, 2021 at the Freedom Hill Amphitheatre in Sterling Heights.
When Tara was tragically murdered by her husband in 2007 a partnership was created between her family and Turning Point. This partnership was formed to increase awareness of DV and to prevent other families from experiencing the tragedy of losing a loved one to domestic violence. All of the event proceeds go to the Tara Liberation Fund which provides emergency cash assistance for domestic violence survivors. Now more than ever, as a result of the COVID pandemic, survivors need your support. It is our hope that we will not only have a financially successful event, but that we will also raise awareness to our cause by bringing community members together and letting our voices be heard.
