Mount Clemens, Mich. – June 4, 2024 – Turning Point, an agency whose mission is to empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking through comprehensive services and resources, is pleased to announce its eighth annual Survivors Golf Outing will be held again at Cracklewood Golf Club in Macomb on Friday, June 21. Turning Point President and CEO, Sharman Davenport, Ph.D., is looking forward to the event.
“The golf outing is a highlight every year—our mission to end violence in our community takes all of us, and being in a space like the golf outing allows you to feel that power for change.” Davenport remarked. “It is the perfect opportunity to support Turning Point’s advocacy, and to share this important mission with others.”
Now is an exciting time to join Turning Point. Since last year’s outing, Turning Point has been named 2023 Best Managed Nonprofit by Crain’s Detroit Business, expanded its Housing and Human Trafficking services, participated in several coordinated trafficking ring busts, and is preparing to add an additional shelter space that will increase available services by 27 beds. Beyond shelter and human trafficking services, Turning Point offers a 24-hour hotline, counseling and advocacy services, transitional and rapid re-housing programs, legal advocacy, personal protection order (PPO) assistance, forensic nurse examiner and first response advocacy, and community education and prevention efforts.
The outing is a scramble, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11 a.m. The day will include course games and prizes, a hole-in-one contest, lunch, drink tickets, and a post-golfing dinner. Registration is limited and the price is $175 per individual or $600 per foursome. Sponsorships opportunities are also available. Cracklewood Golf Club is located at 18215 24 Mile Road in Macomb, Michigan. More information and registration can be found here.
