Every 73 seconds an American is sexually assaulted. While sexual violence impacts the lives of many, there are still several myths about what it is and how to help. Just the Facts: Sexual Violence

Sexual violence is often portrayed inaccurately in the media and fails to factually illustrate the root cause of sexual violence and the countless barriers survivors face. The limited narrative of survivors and offenders leads to many myths surrounding sexual violence. Participants will leave with increased knowledge of the dynamics of sexual violence and survivor experiences. Click here to register.
Believe Survivors: You Can Help Heal
April 20th, 2021: 6:00pm – 6:45pm
Many of us may know someone who has been impacted by sexual assault, and we may wonder how we can best support them. It is vital to a survivor’s healing process that they have people in their lives who believe them and care about them. Participants will learn how they can take an empowerment approach when supporting survivors to help restore power and control. How To Help Without Making It Worse

Has there ever been a time when you thought someone might be in danger and you wanted to intervene but didn’t know how? Participants will learn how they can take an empowerment approach and involve the survivor while intervening.
