Youth Advisory Board

Mission: The Youth Advisory Board aims to give youth a voice through empowering, educating, and making services accessible.  The board also aims to advocate for young survivors about issues they face and witness.

“Turning Point’s Youth Advisory Board is a group of high school students from across Macomb county committed to ending violence in their communities.  As passionate young advocates, they work to elevate youth voices and shape the organization’s work with young people.  They provide ongoing guidance to ensure that services and resources are accessible, relevant, and responsive to the needs of young survivors.  The board also leads efforts to raise awareness in their schools and communities.  Members engage in outreach, education, and peer-led initiatives to challenge harmful norms to promote healthy relationships.  They are also increasingly involved in policy and advocacy efforts, working to influence local and state-level decisions that impact survivors of violence.”
