Mount Clemens, Mich. June 4, 2026 – Turning Point, whose mission is to empower survivors of domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking through comprehensive services and resources, is meeting the request of the community that supports its resale store, Second Hand Rose. The store recently expanded its donation hours to include Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., in addition to the already established donation hours on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

“Second Hand Rose expanded its donation hours to meet the needs of the community and our generous donors. Ultimately, every donation is a sign of support for the Turning Point mission, and we are truly grateful for support – which comes in so many different ways,” Sharman Davenport, Ph. D., CEO of Turning Point, remarked.

Second Hand Rose is experiencing the national increase in popularity of thrifting and upcycling – the repurposing of used products and materials to make higher quality goods – according to Turning Point’s Director of Administration, Keisha Hairston, who oversees the operations of Second Hand Rose.

“Upcycling and thrifting are trendy right now, which has had a positive impact on the store, as all the profits from Second Hand Rose benefit Turning Point survivors and programs.” Hairston said.

Second Hand Rose provides more than $75,000 worth of goods to survivors annually, including furniture and household items to set up new housing units for survivors to begin building their lives free of violence.

Second Hand Rose is located at 36660 S. Gratiot in Clinton Township, Michigan. The store hours are:
- Monday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Tuesday 10:00 am – 7:30 pm
- Wednesday – Saturday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm
